ACTIVE RFID
Active RFID systems use battery-powered RFID tags that continuously broadcast their own signal.
Commonly used as “beacons” to accurately track the real-time location of assets or in high-speed. environments such as tolling.
Active tags provide a much longer read range than passive tags.
PROTOTYPE COMPONENTS
ACTIVE RFID GENERAL INFO

Up to 3- 5 years battery life
Greater data storage
Active tracking of personnel or equipment
Integrated beacon
Increased tag abilities with partnered technologies(GPS,sensors, etc)
Extremely Rugged tag options
LONG RANGE RFID TRANSMITTER
A radio frequency identification reader (RFID reader) is a device used to gather information from an RFID tag, which is used to track individual objects. Radio waves are used to transfer data from the tag to a reader.
So, this radio frequency identification or RFID is a technology which is working on radio frequency of radio waves. So whenever this RFID Tag is in the range of the reader then the RFID tag will transmit its feedback signal to the reader. It is very similar to the technology which is used in a barcode.
FALL DETECTION FUNCTION
Based on the current system in Apple watch series 4
Using the accelerometer and gyroscope, the watch is able to detect when the user has fallen.
If a fall occurs, a hard fall alert is delivered and the user is able initiate a call to emergency services or dismiss the alert.
If there is no response after 60 seconds, the watch will automatically make an emergency call and a message with a location will be sent to the user’s emergency contacts.
Once a fall is detected, a prompt is displayed on the screen giving the user a choice to cancel the alert.
We decided to also have the fall detection function in our prototype seeing how useful it can be in monitoring crew condition.
ACCELEROMETER AND GYROSCOPE
A gyroscope is a device used for measuring or maintaining orientation and angular velocity
An accelerometer is an electromechanical device used to measure acceleration forces. Such forces may be static, like the continuous force of gravity or, as is the case with many mobile devices, dynamic to sense movement or vibrations.
Online Model is made using Raspberry Pi which is a small programmable single-board computer.
